Louis has been producing, mixing and arranging music for 25 years and has produced gold and platinum-selling albums for some of South Africa’s acclaimed artists, such as The Soweto String Quartet who played at Nelson Mandela’s inauguration. He runs Protools at his studio in Blountville, Tennessee and is a Waves-certified mastering engineer. He brings the best musicians of East-Tennessee and South Africa together to produce a unique sound. Having lived in South Africa for a long time, his understanding of rhythm and rich musical movement is deep. He approaches production as a vocalist and songwriter, trying to find the voice and timbre of every instrument, making the melody speak and resonate. He has produced many styles of music to a very high standard, but excels in music that is open, clean and has well-defined elements. Meticulous production is time-consuming, and he selects 4 projects per year to produce to a level of excellence he is satisfied with.
